Welcome to the new 24-25 school year at Algazul!  We have started the year with very good news for bilingualism at our school, since this year we do have a language assistant. Her name is Ariel, and she comes from Salinas, California. Ariel is already participating in the bilingual lessons to help our students gain greater fluency in English and to bring closer the culture of her country.  Thank you and welcome again! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ¡Bienvenidos y bienvenidas a este nuevo curso 24-25 en el Algazul! Advertisements in 2ºB

Image
Our 2ºB students have recorded several advertisements in their music class. Along with their teacher, Samuel, they had to invent slogans in English, create scripts, and, of course, use the appropriate music. In the final result, the students of this class have once again stood out for their great imagination. Well done, boys and girls! You can find their adverts here:  ADVERTS 2ºB .  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nuestros estudiantes de 2ºB han grabado varios anuncios en la asignatura de música. Bilingual Contest

Our school has once again participated this year in the Provincial Contest for Bilingual Schools in Almería. Our students, Victoria, Bea, Mar, Sara, and Eric from 1ºB, wonderfully represented our school at IES Al Ándalus, the organizer of this year's competition. During the morning, our students showcased their bilingual skills through various tasks such as a quiz, interactive activities, listening and reading comprehension tests, as well as written expression tasks. The highlight of the event was the karaoke with choreography. In addition to being a challenge to demonstrate their skills and knowledge, it was a day of fellowship with other bilingual schools in the province. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nuestro centro ha vuelto a participar este año en el Certamen provincial de centros bilingües de Almería. Bilingual Book Club

Last Tuesday, June 11th, we held the final meeting of our Bilingual Book Club in our library. This time, our students read the novel and comic in English "Enola Holmes and the Left-Handed Lady". It was quite a challenge to read in English, but it turned out to be a very rewarding experience. In addition to sharing their opinions about the book, our students stepped into the protagonist's shoes and had to solve several mysteries before the meeting began. Of course, after the meeting, we enjoyed a well-deserved breakfast. This activity, organized by the English, Bilingualism, and Erasmus+ departments, aims to promote the objectives of our Erasmus+ Accreditation. We are already looking forward to discovering the readings that await us for the next school year! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- El pasado martes 11 de junio, celebramos en nuestra biblioteca la última reunión de nuestr

Noise at Home

In this project carried out in the music class of 1st B, the students had to measure the decibel levels in each room of their house. After doing so, they mapped it out on a floor plan of their house. The colors indicate the differences in decibel levels in each room. This is the noise level in our students' homes: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGF-Hh9yXM/woQwrokQ_JUHYeYnnGr0bg/edit?utm_content=DAGF-Hh9yXM&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton Great job! ------------- En este proyecto llevado a cabo en la asignatura de música en 1ºB, el alumnado tuvo que medir los decibelios en cada una de las estancias de su casa. Erasmus+ Welcome Concert

Image
As part of our Erasmus+ project, from April 22 to 26, IES Algazul hosted two teachers from Kurfürst-Salentin-Gymnasium in Andernach, Germany, and a group of ten students with their teachers from ZSO in Kluczbork, Poland. To welcome them, our music teachers, Luis and Samuel, prepared a concert in which some of our students showcased their musical talent. The concert was presented in English by four of our bilingual 2nd ESO students: Emma, Jade, Raúl, and Víctor. These students wanted to share the slides they used to introduce the performances: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGCHvxutFs/RdtkfCFdxUh5B40vQv-AbQ/view?utm_content=DAGCHvxutFs&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=viewer Thank you and congratulations on your work! -------------------------------------------------------- En el marco de nuestro proyecto Erasmus+, del 22 al 26 de abril, el IES Algazul acogió a dos profesoras del Kurfürst-Salentin-Gymnasium de Andernach, Alemania, y a un grupo de diez estud
