Bilingual Book Club 1º-2º ESO



On January 27th, our bilingual reading club held its first meeting of the school year in our beloved library. In this first gathering, our students from 1st and 2nd year of secondary school met after reading the comic in English "Smile."

As in previous occasions, we had a great time sharing our thoughts on this book, which mainly focuses on friendship and some of the most common problems during adolescence. Afterward, our readers enjoyed a well-deserved literary breakfast.

The bilingual reading club is an initiative that promotes the Erasmus+ objectives of the school, organized by our Erasmus+ team and the English Department in collaboration with the Library.

El pasado lunes, nuestro club de lectura bilingüe celebró su primera reunión del curso en nuestra querida biblioteca. En esta primera reunión, nuestro alumnado de 1º y 2º de ESO se ha reunido tras la lectura del cómic en inglés “Smile”.

Como en anteriores ocasiones, pasamos un muy buen rato en el que compartimos nuestras impresiones sobre este libro que trata principalmente de la amistad y algunos de los problemas más comunes en la adolescencia. Después, nuestros lectores y lectoras disfrutaron de un muy merecido desayuno literario.

El próximo 10 de febrero será el turno de lectores y lectoras de 3º y 4º de ESO.

El club de lectura bilingüe es una iniciativa que fomenta los objetivos Erasmus+ del centro y que organiza nuestro equipo Erasmus+ y el Departamento de Inglés en colaboración con la Biblioteca.

As part of our Erasmus+ project, from April 22 to 26, IES Algazul hosted two teachers from Kurfürst-Salentin-Gymnasium in Andernach, Germany, and a group of ten students with their teachers from ZSO in Kluczbork, Poland. Advertisements in 2ºB

Our 2ºB students have recorded several advertisements in their music class. Along with their teacher, Samuel, they had to invent slogans in English, create scripts, and, of course, use the appropriate music. In the final result, the students of this class have once again stood out for their great imagination. Well done, boys and girls! Welcome, Ariel!

Welcome to the new 24-25 school year at Algazul!  We have started the year with very good news for bilingualism at our school, since this year we do have a language assistant. Her name is Ariel, and she comes from Salinas, California.
